Design and Implementation of a Global Data Collection System 

RESULTS:

  • Designed traceability system and managed SQL data collection tables 

  • Implemented system in 7 manufacturing locations (Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and  USA ) 

  • Worked with 50 component suppliers to implement bar code label, reducing 50% of data collection errors at manufacturing sites  

  • Implemented intranet page to provide live manufacturing data history per SN. Managed software developers both locally and abroad in the design and implementation of data collection and query software  

  • Led company wide presentations and training to ensure system would be maintained in all departments involved (procurement, warehouse, manufacturing, product engineering) per ISO 9000 regulations

 

Conversion to ERP system

 

RESULTS:

  • Converted to new manufacturing database. Developed categorization system for all product families (8,000 part numbers). Performed time studies and yield analysis for cost reduction project  

  • Clearly identified the information required by  the ERP software (PN, Routing, Bill of Material, time study information) 

  • Created a plan with the most efficient way to obtain the information and strategized the best way to proceed when the information was unavailable (i.e. time studies, creating flow charts, defining work stations, determining equipment capacity, etc)

  • Led a a multi functional team to research the necessary information

 

Database Design and Implementation

RESULTS:

  • Designed traceability system and managed SQL data collection tables  

  • Designed decision support systems, process control tools and client-server databases
